Greetings and Blessings to you, Today I want to share my joy in the Lord with you for the things that my good God has done for me. As I used to say, “I am a blessed man” and I really am. This month I take pleasure to celebrate one more year in my life.
I was born March 27 at 9:18 a.m. in San Diego, CA. I grew up with my grandma Maria A. Ponce who was like a mother to me since the age of nine months old until I was 14 year old. By that time, my father Ernest Ponce was young and ambitious with the great dream of being a great horse trainer and that he was. He worked very hard to fulfill it; I have wonderful memories of those years. I still remember the many days he left and I missed him so much.
Only my grandma was with me. She was like a mother to me. She was a woman of prayer who each day, and with this I really mean each day, she used to wake up early in the morning before the sunrise and start praying. Along the day you could find her with her Bible open reading scriptures or humming or even singing songs to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. How I miss to see her in our living room. My grandma led me to know Jesus The Christ as Lord and Savior and I knew since I was five years old that I would be a preacher.
By that time, being a preacher was a great occupation worthy of respect. As the years passed by to be a preacher has flagged because of the tags and people, which always want to find errors in everything. But I want to share this with you, I don’t feel ashamed to be a preacher and servant of God, I consider myself blessed and privileged. Maybe others read this letter without interest but if you have a calling in your life, believe in Him and let the Holy Spirit lead your steps today.
God believes so much in you that He was willing to give His only son to die for you and me. This is powerful! Each year many members of the temple in Houston, also prayer partners and friends send me gifts and letters. I will be eternally thankful for their love.
In August 1968 I was invited to give a short sermonette about Jesus sending us to preach the gospel to the world in the four square evangelical church on Avocado Ave. in El Cajon, CA. This was the church where my grandma used to attend in those days.
And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. Mark 16:15
” But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Acts 1:8
Now 33 years have a passed since that Sunday morning service. And it is a great joy to share with you that I am still preaching and taking the gospel to the world. Today, More than 10,000 of the audiocassettes (in Spanish) entitled “Pelea la buena batalla de la Fe” have been sent without any cost for the people that write us.
We really believe in sowing! We are heard on the short-wave international radio in more than 35 nations around the world. We are in daily TV with a potential audience of 16 million people. Between 4,000 and 7,000 people receive inspiration and word from God through letters that give courage to their life in Jesus Christ and give them direction in their walk with God.
We are on the Internet in Spanish: www.unidos.org and in English: www.uwcmi.org
We have ministries, churches and missions ‘United with Christ’ in Houston, Texas; Los Angeles, California; Tijuana, Ensenada and San Antonio de las minas in Baja California, Mexico. Also in Bahia Tortugas in Baja California Sur and now also in Puebla, Mexico.
We support missionaries and ministries in Mexico, Africa, Israel and India. We have a growing ministry of TV production and videos and we are in the process to become a network in North, Central and South America.
In the midst of my ministry, God has blessed me allowing me to participate in several businesses and experiment the birth of many other that I lead under the name “La nueva imagen latina Ponce y Asociados”. We have also a ministry of restoration person to person oriented to marraiges, drug addicts, alcoholics & abused persons, street evangelism, dramas, etc.. The list continues, but I want to share with you the many things this ministry is doing and will continue doing as we grow in the Lord.
When my grandma passed away to be with the Lord in February 23, 1973. I felt my world had finished. I kept many things inside of me that I never want to share with anyone. It was as if my life was finished inside me. Fear, confusion and sadness filled up my inside, but I never show it outwardly. I wanted to reject being a preacher, I was mad with God. “Why did he take my grandma away?” Then He gave me this scripture.
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand”. Isaiah 41:10
This has been my confidence and my Joy. Nowadays, I wanted to share with you this opportunity of sowing in this ministry that produces the works of God through the revealed word, miracles and wonders. 33 years ago in that small church I preached about taking the gospel of Jesus to the world and today that is exactly what we are doing.
The servant of God Rev. E. Daniel Ponce
